1. RULES:

1.1 The Races will be governed by International Sailing Federation (ISAF) Racing Rules Of Sailing (RRS) 2017-2020, this notices of Race, and the Sailing Instructions which shall prevail in the event of conflict.
1.2 The Racing Rules will be charged as follows:
1.2.1 The Two-Turns Penalty, Rules 44.1 and 44.2, will apply, except they are changed so that only one turn, including one tack and one gybe, is required.
1.2.2 The scoring penalty, Rule 44.3 is modified to allow a boat to take an alternative penalty accepted during arbitration or as allowed by the Sailing Instructions.
1.3 If there is a conflict between languages the English text will take precedence.

2. ADVERTISING:

2.1 The MEXORC is an unrestricted event except as noted in ISAF Regulation 20.
2.2. The Organizing Authority may ask competitors to display Event to and Class sponsor advertising material. Boats may be asked to carry stickers carrying sponsor advertising provided at registration. These should be attached to the boat in accordance with the instructions provided by the Organizers and displayed in the following areas:
Forward 25% of both sides of the hull for venue Sponsor as per ISAF Guidelines.
Other advertising as per request from Class and Organizing committee. This may be on the jib and mainsail. Penalties will be applied.

3. CONDITIONS OF BOAT ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY:

3.1 The event will be open to all invited mono hull and multi hulls boats that hold a current valid offshore Racing Rule (ORR) Certificate. The Racing Committee and the Mexican Sailing Federation reserve the right to modify any boat’s ORR rating before the start of the first race. A maximum of 50 entries will be accepted. All yachts shall have an ORR GPH less than 645.0. Each yacht shall produce its valid 2018 rating certificate at registration, for boats without a valid ORR Certificate arbitrary ratings may be available at the discretion of the Organizing Authority. All one design classes must comply with class rules, ISAF Offshore Special Regulations category 4 shall apply. ORR Ratings may be obtained by contacting Offshore@ussailing.org or http://www.ussailing.org/offshore/ORR/orr.asp or call US SAILING Offshore department at 401-683-0800.
3.2 Only owners, charterer’s, or non-professional sailors will be permitted to helm any boats. Competitors who directly or indirectly benefit financially from competing will not be allowed to helm any boats while racing. The Organizing Authority will make determinations as to “competitor eligibility” in the event of conflict.

3.6 Yachts will be divided into separated Classes appropriate, by the Organizing authority, at the close of registration. The classes and their respective starting times will be posted as soon as possible after the close registration. One design classes of five or more boats may qualify as a separated class.

4. ENTRY FEES:

4.1 Entry fee all yachts are:
$500 USD for boats under 39’
$600 USD for boats from 40’ to 50’
$800 USD for boats over 51’
$1,000 USD for Multi Hulls.

There is an early entry fee for registrations received prior October 31, 2017.
$425 USD for boats under 39’
$500 USD for boats from 40’ to 50’
$680 USD for boats over 51’
$850 USD for Multi Hulls.

4.2 Entries received after February 20, 2018 will be accepted at the discretion of the Organizing Authority and will charged an additional $100USD late fee.
4.3 No entries or rating changes will be accepted after 15:00 hrs. March 9, 2018.

5.1 Registration will be from 11:00 to 16:00 on Friday, March 9th, 2018 at the MEXORC Official Headquarters registration desk or alternate registration desk (TBA), at Marina Vallarta, Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, México
5.2 The competitors meeting will be held at 10:00 hrs. On Saturday. March 10, 2018 at MEXORC Official, Marina Vallarta. All regatta activities are based on Central Standard Time (UTC - 6 Hrs.) Puerto Vallarta International Airport (Gustavo Diaz Ordáz Airport) time.
5.3 Seven races scheduled. A minimum of four races are required to constitute a series.
5.4 The warning signal for race # 1, will be at 13:00 hrs. Saturday, March 10, the starting area for this race will be at approximately: N 20, 42 ̈ W 105 19 ̈ The warning signal for the first race on the 11th , 13th and 14th of March, will be at 1300 hrs, (any additional races to follow as soon as possible), The Warning signal for the Marietas Race will be at 12:30 hrs, on monday March 12.

6. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS:


The sailing instructions will be available, online, after 16:00 on March 9th 2018.

7. VENUE


7.1 The sailing area will be the coastal waters of Banderas’ Bay off Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, México.
7.2 The courses to be sailed will be described in the sailing instructions.

8. SCORING:


If less than six (6) races are completed, no race will be excluded. These changes RRS A2.1.

9. PENALTY SYSTEM:


Protest Arbitration will be used for eligible RRS Part 2, Protests. International Jury decisions will be final.

10. PRIZES:


Prizes will be awarded to the first three places in each Class.
There will be an OVERALL TROPHY (and) Top 3 places prizes for the accumulation of 1st, 4th and 7th races result, where all the boats will be sailing the same course.

11. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY


Competitors participate in the Regatta entirely at their own risk. See RRS Rue 4: “DECISION TO RACE”. The Organizing Authority and the Host Organizations will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the Regatta.
